I’d like to talk about the emotional impact of using the web: how many sites generate lurkers and trolls and evoke anger, jealousy or inferiority in their users. I will go through how some existing websites could improve their design to make users feel good when they use them; and an example of how by thinking about the emotional impact of your idea on a user during the design phase, you can minimise the negatives, and increase the positives: A type of emotional impact based design.
